Windows 7 Driver is not intended for this platform

We use Windows 7 with intel processor (32 bit?).

2 months ago I used Cypress USB Generic driver (3.4.6.000) with my device and it was working well.

Today I started the device again and now it didnt work. The driver had a yellow ? mark. and it didn't help to reinstall it.

I tried to install the new version (3.4.7.000) with no success.

The answer fom Windows was "Driver is not intended for this platform"

Why?

Best regards

Sam

 Hi,

What is the VID/PID displayed for your device in device manager? does it match with the VID/PID in firmware? Ensure you have pointed to the right inf file while binding.

Thanks

Prajith

The strange thing is that it worked last year and the only thing that is different is Window update has update Windows 7.

In deviceManager

USB\VID_04B4&PID_1002&REV_0000
USB\VID_04B4&PID_1002

in device

 //Device Descriptor
 18,   //Descriptor length
 1,   //Descriptor type
 00,02,  //Specification Version (BCD)
 00,   //Device class
 00,   //Device sub-class
 00,   //Device sub-sub-class
 64,   //Maximum packet size
 0xB4,0x04, //Vendor ID
 0x02,0x10, //Product ID (Sample Device)
 0x00,0x00, //Product version ID
 1,   //Manufacturer string index
 2,   //Product string index
 0,   //Serial number string index
 1,   //Number of configurations

I atached a paint file so you can see the windos message. I hope it works with paint.

From which of the suiteusb package did you take this inf file from? wxp/x86 or wlh/x86 folder?

For win7 you should be using the one from wlh/x86.

Anand

I toke the cyusb.inf from wlh directory and made the adress changes in it.

I attach the file from C:\Windows\System32\drivers for you to check.

 Hi,

This file works in my Windows 7 32bit machine. Have you selected "Disable Windows Driver Signature Enforcement" while boot up?

Thanks

Prajith

Yes,

I used "Disable Driver Signature Enforcement" and removed oemXX.inf and ....pnf and even unistalled the driver before connected my device to PC.

Same result "Driver is not intended for this platform".

First I tried whitout rermoving the files as you see in attachement.

Hi,

Now I have some time again to test tings.

My computer had crashed so we install Windows again from scratch.
I tried to install 32 bit version again with same faulty result.

Then I tried 64 bit version and that was lucky, it worked. Propably there is some switch in Windows witch was changed under my winter holiday without my knowledge.

Thank you for your time

Samuel
