maximum frequency on a GPIO

Hi,

What is the maximum frequency for simple output GPIOs? On the DVK, I set the gpio clock values to the default defined in the FX3APIGuide.pdf pp. 232:
fastClkDiv = 2 slowClkDiv = 0 simpleDivCY_U3P_GPIO_SIMPLE_DIV_BY_2 clkSrc = CY_U3P_SYS_CLK.

There is also a sentence: "These default values must be used if only simple GPIO is required."
Does this means that GPIO cannot achieve a higher frequency?
The frequency I get from a pin on DVK is around 740KHz. How can I increase this speed?

Thanks,

Nazila

Sorry my mistake, the maximum frequency I can get from the above setting is 370 KHz
