The Avnet Spartan-3A(TM) Evaluation Kit shows how the PSoC(R) Programmable System-on-Chip makes programming a FPGA and flash memory configurations fast and easy with the PSoC's USB interface.  In addition, the evaluation kit highlights the CapSense capabilities of the onboard PSoC taking advantage of the analog and digital configurable blocks.

The PSoC device comes pre-configured to enable direct programming of the FPGA, SPI Flash memory and parallel Flash memory through a Windows-based programming application all over a simple USB interface.

Special features of the board include both USB and capacitive touch sense development and debugging support. This evaluation board also includes an LCD module, potentiometer, LEDs, an enunciator and plenty of bread boarding space to meet all of your evaluation needs. The CY3214-PSoCEvalUSB board features an on-chip debugger and can be connected directly to an ICE-Cube (available in the CY3215-DK) for a full featured in-circuit emulation and debugging. A MiniProg programming unit is also included in this kit. The MiniProg programming unit will program PSoC devices directly on the evaluation board or on other boards via a 5-pin header. The MiniProg is small and compact and connects to the user's PC via a USB 2.0 cable (provided in the kit). Note: The assembly compiler is free with the PSoC Designer software. To program in C, a separate compiler is needed. Access to a C compiler license number is included with the CY2315-DK kit.
